This session cracks open the professional toolkit to help you build improvised songs that look, sound, and feel like the real deal. You’ll master the art of the big build by crafting memorable choruses with satisfying structural payoffs, while simultaneously learning to use the stage to create cinematic, Broadway-ready pictures. We’ll dive deep into character-first vocals - teaching you to sing from the soul of your character rather than just the top of your lungs - and explore the stylistic keys to any musical kingdom, from ballads to Sondheim-esque patter.
Über Stacey
Stacey is an internationally recognized improviser, performer, director, and educator with over a decade of experience. Originally from Long Island, New York Stacey grew up in an environment steeped in music and musical theater before studying theater, linguistics, and music in college. She trained at The Second City, iO, and The Annoyance in Chicago and toured internationally with The Second City. She founded the Chicago Musical Improv Festival and later served as Artistic Director and Director of Education at Boom Chicago in Amsterdam. She performs and teaches across Europe and North America, produces shows and festivals, and recently founded the Amsterdam Comedy Studio.

Über Steffen
Steffen hat irgendwann als Kind beschlossen, dass er Musik machen will und dann einfach nicht damit aufgehört. In Stuttgart und Ludwigsburg studierte er Audiovisuelle Medien und Filmmusik und betrat dort auch mit Kanonenfutter erstmals die Bühne des Improvisationstheaters. Als Impromusiker und Coach führte ihn sein Weg seitdem von Shows über Workshops und Kurse bis hin zu internationalen Festivals. Steffen ist überall da in seinem Element, wo Geschichten und Musik aufeinandertreffen: Wenn er nicht gerade auf der Bühne oder im Workshopraum ist, schreibt er Musik für Videospiele (Anno 1800) oder Film und Fensehen (Habibi Baba Boom, Erlebnis Erde) Aktuell unterrichtet er improvisierten Gesang und Musical an der Affirmative Improschule in Mainz und Frankfurt und entwickelte mit dem der Affirmative das Musical-Format “Glam!”.
